When Meng Fei and He Zhi's plane from the US gradually made its descent into to city, Meng Yun was sitting in his office, peering through at magnifying glass that he used to inspect the white nightgown he brought from Tang Hong's.

As he drove, Meng Yun peeked at the man that was his father. Although that man was already in his forties, he was still tall and dignified in appearance, and to women, especially middle-aged aunties, he would surely make them fall head over heals. Is that why he always showed disinterest in mother? Does he have lovers on the outside somewhere? But I never heard anything about those lovers existing...

The person who wore this gown, without a doubt, had played an integral role in the Liu Wei-Tang Sen case! Meng Yun was just about certain this "fourth suspect" theory of his wasn't just a fantasy, such a person did exist! But... he still held back on telling all this to his other team members, though.

"What's wrong?" Meng Zhaoxiong, who was just resting his eyes, opened them when he asked him.

Li Wei was currently already arrested and had confessed as well. So the other detectives saw this as a case as already over and done with, all aspects brought to light. Meaning, if Meng Yun went right now to tell them of this "fourth suspect" that still hadn't been seen in person, he'd be ridiculed and rebuked without a doubt. Besides, what role this "fourth" suspect played un the case was still very much unclear.

Meng Yun's father asked him out of the blue, making him jump in his seat again before replying, "Oh, it's nothing! I just—just saw somebody I know."

Thus, Meng Yun decided he would carry out this investigation on his own to clear things up before he said anything. Thinking about these things brought his thoughts to that silly kid, Tang Hong. To think that guy has been harbouring a suspect... ah, forget it. Any way you think about it, when it comes to a battle of brains versus brawn, that big dumdum with a foolish look on his face stood no chance when facing the clever Meng Yun.

He then noticed all the cars that were parked up beside the road.

But... while we're on the subject, how did that "fourth suspect" with their mysterious role... end up staying with Tang Hong? It looks as though they're Tang Hong's woman? Hm... there's something amiss... it's too much of a coincidence...

"What's wrong?" Meng Zhaoxiong, who was just resting his eyes, opened them when he asked him.

Throughout their journey, that father-son pair didn't share a single word. Meng Yun's complete focus had been on driving, while Meng Zhaoxiong spent his time looking straight ahead at the road. His deep eyes remained so unmoving, bearing not the slightest emotion as if it were set in stone.

Could there be some other factor I'm unaware of?

CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE: Part Three

As he was lost in thought, the phone rang, and Meng Yun answered the call with a curious hello.

Even though he couldn't see them clearly, Meng Yun thought that young man's side profile seemed to have a constant gentle smile. What a good and considerate man. I wonder if that is his wife? As Meng Yun thought this, that man seemed to have felt Meng Yun's stare, and suddenly turned to look back.

But... while we're on the subject, how did that "fourth suspect" with their mysterious role... end up staying with Tang Hong? It looks as though they're Tang Hong's woman? Hm... there's something amiss... it's too much of a coincidence...

They were currently driving on the southern main road, but soon Meng Yun would discover something of misfortune. Another traffic jam!

"Ohhh! I'm so sorry, Fei-ge, my bad. I'm on my way right now. I'll come pick you guys up." Smacking himself on the head, Meng Yun cursed himself: Geez, how could I forget I had to pick up my older cousin and his fiance coming back from the states today?!

Right as he pondered this, the door to the Lincoln opened and a tall young man stepped out of it first. Afterwards, he leaned back into the sedan, as though he was carefully helping a woman out of it.

I have to hurry up and ask for leave, then rush home to get my Benz... crap! Well, it wasn't his car exactly, it was his father, Meng Zhaoxiong, who had bought it for him. There was no way a poor police officer like him could afford to buy an imported car! So although that aloof father of his didn't seem all that fond of him and his mother, he still made up for it in other aspects... So when Meng Yun saw his father straighten up to look at him from his garden work to ask where he was going, Meng Yun politely replied that he was on his way to pick up his "Fei-ge" and that cousin's girlfriend from the airport since they wre back in the country.

"Oh." His father hesitated for a moment before surprisingly saying, "I'll tag along with you to pick them up."

A woman? Why assume it was a woman? In truth, that person was wrapped securely in a loose, thick coat and their head was also wrapped with a scarf, so it was impossible to see their face clearly. But the shape of their body could not be hidden as easily, and the bulge of their stomach was obvious, making it clear they were pregnant, and quite far along too, with only one glance. That man carefully helped the woman out the car, and that woman seemed a bit carsick as she took a step forward, because her body suddenly lost its strength as it fell onto the man. That young man hurriedly caught her in his arms, letting her snuggle against him. That woman seemed leaned all of her weight on that man, and the young man held onto her, staying like that for a rather long time, it appeared as though he was waiting for her dizzy spell to pass.

"Oh." His father hesitated for a moment before surprisingly saying, "I'll tag along with you to pick them up."

"Ah!" Meng Yun let out a yelp unconsciously.

"Another damn traffic jam?! What the fυck kind of luck is that?!" Meng Yun cursed angrily, while having no choice but to grab the steering wheel and drive up to the car in front of him before putting in in park. There as nothing he could do apart from calling Meng Fei and telling him to be patient. How much longer do I have to wait? "If I depend on this city's piss poor traffic system, I'll be patiently waiting here until dawn!"

The person who wore this gown, without a doubt, had played an integral role in the Liu Wei-Tang Sen case! Meng Yun was just about certain this "fourth suspect" theory of his wasn't just a fantasy, such a person did exist! But... he still held back on telling all this to his other team members, though.

Huh? Meng Yun was a bit stunned. He and his father hadn't spent any time in such close proximity with one another for as long as he could remember. So when than man washed his hands then sat down in the passenger seat beside him, Meng Yun felt uneasy all over.

Meng Yun kept wondering as he drove, his curiosity prodded to peak,. Do men like this also also have beloved women? If they do, I wonder what kind of woman my father be interested in?

I'm the only one here that still living the single life! Argh! Meng Yun felt bitter on the inside, still cursing in his heart. Even that dumb kid Tang Hong has somebody that wants him! How much better of a man amI that him, so why don't I have a girlfriend as yet, huh?

"Oh." His father hesitated for a moment before surprisingly saying, "I'll tag along with you to pick them up."

Cars of all kinds were not lined up one after the other forming into a snake, and no one dared move so much as a step forwards since a traffic cop stood a at command post in the distance, screaming his lungs out and waving his arms frantically for some reason, while he was so anxious his head was dripping balls of sweat.

After his angry outburst, Meng Yun hung up the phone then opened his window to look outside. He realised they happened to be on the road not far from the Second People's Hospital. There was a wide avenue in front of the courtyard, it was filled with all kinds of nurses and patients going to and fro.

"Nothing!" Meng Yun turned his attention back to the front, noticing the jam was over and the traffic was already started back flowing, so she hurriedly accelerated to follow the car ahead. But all he whole, he couldn't stop thinking: That man... Isn't he the tall guy I saw at Tang Hong's? That handsome but rough looking young man from last time?

But amongst these vehicles, the one that had caught Meng Yun's eye was the stylish, pure black Lincoln stretch limousine. It was luxury and elegance personified, which made Meng Yun unable to stop the curiosity about the owner of such a vehicle from blossoming in his mind. The sedan was parked the closest to the roadside, so it was obvious they were just about to enter the compound.

Hold on... so that rough looking and uncivilised gang head actually had a wife, and a pregnant one at that. That Tang Hong fella has his own girl. And that older cousin of mine is on his way down the aisle... these guys... all of these guys are just swimming in luck!
