The man typed in the three characters "Yu Yanzhang" into the search bar then lightly pressed enter, prompting the screen to churn out a list of results.

But...

His profile was completely different than the others with endless mentions of meritorious deeds and political achievements. Instead, all he had was the brief introduction. It noted his date of appointment, the date he took office—but what was the most interesting fact was the last sentence which stated: "Went missing in the year XXXX..."

......

[1], [2], [3], [4]... there was a total of [11] pages, which was still a good bit. For some inexplicable reason, seeing them had made Tang Hong's heart grow tense. It was an intriguing, exciting type of feeling, you see—one other's could possibly understand. To find a person unknown, already known, or never known from such a vast sea of people was something special indeed.

Carefully, he went through all the results:

Yan Zhang had obviously heard them, but he showed no reaction and only silently followed Tang Hong's gesturing. He had even flashed Tang Hong a smile and mouthed in a whisper, "I'm sorry for troubling you."

The man typed in the three characters "Yu Yanzhang" into the search bar then lightly pressed enter, prompting the screen to churn out a list of results.

Did our province have a governor by that name four years back? Tang Hong did hos best to remember, but he couldn't recall a thing. For one, such matters were never something he had any interest in whatsoever, and the net was simply because the governor's period in office was too brief. Upon further inspection of the date listed, he saw the man had gone missing after just six months. Gone missing? That's really something. Was that Governor Yu too moral and got himself kidnapped and killed by some bad people? Or was he too immoral and got himself nabbed and whacked by some bad people?

......

After hitting peak dejection, Tang Hong didn't want to search though those results any longer! Ah, just forget! What the frick am I doing trying to find that man, huh! Even if I did, what use would there even be? Would that bastard even recognise a gangster like me, or want to get mixed up with a shameless son like me? Frick it! I'll just head back and go to sleep!

Below the barely there introduction, most of the information there were reports of the governor's disappearance our years ago. Tang Hong red though these with keen interest but only the kind that's a mix of the apathy and curiosity found in a stranger. That "Yu Yanzhang" was most likely not his father, he didn't dare expect the heavens to treat him so kindly. But he had just gotten the idea to try searching for a Yu Yanzhang online and this was the only one he had found. What's more, this one was not only a provincial governor, he had also gone missing...The chances of that alone was already far out there! It was impossible for this guy to just happen to be the father I was looking for too! There's no way it could be true!

At the same time, that man called Yan Zhang had also noticed the small row of underlined words which again made his past anxiety re-emerge on his face in an instant.

It was a link to a news article which stole his attention, one which read: ...former provincial mayor "Yu Yanzhang... XXXX...

Therefore, he found "Yu Yanzhang" and used his flying dragon force recommend "Yu Yanzhang" in this place as Biji, originally hoping he could use "Yanzhang" for a great battle! Unfortunately, the Jurchen prince and princess were killed by underworld forces of the Central Plains...

Looking as if he was enamoured, Tang Hong turned his head to talk to Yan Zhang. After that man saw Tang Hong close the search tab, his face revealed a calmer expression, so when he heard Tang Hong call out to him, he looked at the star with the very well-endowed chest and wore a knowing smile. However, behind those eyes of his there was not one shred a excitement.

—...WTF? What kind of joke is this! It's just a name from some wuxia novel! Tang Hong cursed before he continued down the page.

Quietly, Tang Hong pulled out the key from his pocket then did his best to not make a sound as he motioned to Yan Zhang to come inside before closed it like a thief. He had figured by that hour his team leader and "A" must have fallen asleep, but little did he know as soon as that thought was birthed in his mind, from his bedroom door which was tightly shut, there would be continuous gasps and moaning.

...towards Shao Biao said: "Shao Biao, right not, tell me who you think really killed "Yu Yanzhang." The muscles in Shao Biao's face suddenly spasm...

It turned out to be a forum dedicated to collecting all the information of dozens of provincial governors, past and present, and there was one listed as "Yu Yanzhang" there.

...

When Tang Hong and the man had left the internet cafe, it was around midnight.

—Hey, it's a character name in a novel again, and worse yet, this one was killed! He really is one unlucky mf, too, isn't he... After this, Tang Hong again continued down the page.

Carefully, he went through all the results:

...the other results are just as disappointing. Most of them are just character names in novels making them of no value at all. It's wasn't as if Tang Hong could say his father was a character in novel now, could he? Tang Hong then sighed. ...Haa... Looks like the internet isn't that magical after all...

"It's no problem, I wake up early anyhow." The man replied, and even gave him a warm smile before the two lay down. As they lay there, despite a distance being between them, Tang Hong could still smell the faint traces of a cologne emanating from the man's body. It really does seem as though he was a man who came from a well-off family, but... what happened to him, and why was there blood on his head?

As was completely absorbed in his own thoughts, he had all but forgotten about the guy called Yan Zhang sitting beside him. Speaking of which, he was holding a cіgarette between his fingers, one that was unlit, while his eyes were glued to the screen nervously. Stranger than that, was the fact that tiny bolts of sweat was leaking from his forehead, sweat that could be explained by the cafe being a bit too hot.

That man... the one whom Yu Yanzhang believed he had killed, well, that man was actually still very much part of the world of the living.

Yan Zhang had obviously heard them, but he showed no reaction and only silently followed Tang Hong's gesturing. He had even flashed Tang Hong a smile and mouthed in a whisper, "I'm sorry for troubling you."

The Liu's Hotel!

Tang Hong noticed none of these strange behaviours by the man beside him, however, as his focus was completely dedicated to the screen he looked at with widened eyes. Scrolling desperately, he went back to the source of the article where that "Yu Yanzhang" was named...

But there was no real need for it to worry as the lord above had always treated big-hearted and careless fools like its owner with great kindness. Anyhow, that worth saving mind thought, that man Tang Hong had brought home seemed to not have been some psycho murderer even though there was blood on his head and his behaviour was rather strange... Right then, when Tang Hong was completely asleep, that strange man's eyes had opened while he cupped both hands behind his head. He looked annoyed, and his annoyed gaze was focused on the ceiling above him, and mixed into that expression of his was a deep feeling of loneliness and pain.

While Tang Hong was reading, he stumbled upon another incredible coincidence. ...that mayor... four years ago—went missing at the hotel owned by the Lius!

Dispirited, he closed the search window and went back to the homepage, already planning to leave. But he then remembered he had paid for a full hour, and had spent twenty minutes there at most, so he began scrolling through the newsfeed out of boredom where the image of an attractive starlet soon caught his attention.

It was a link to a news article which stole his attention, one which read: ...former provincial mayor "Yu Yanzhang... XXXX...

"Hey, bro! Look how freaking huge her boobs are!"

I guess it's nothing but a pure coincidence, then. This was Tang Hong's conclusion before he closed the tab with the forum. But what Tang failed to notice was that tucked away in the bottom of that forum, was a subheading titled: "Provincial Mayor Album", which was used to store images of all the province's mayors throughout the years.

While he stared at the screen nervously from over Tang Hong's shoulder, the cіgarette hanging from his lips, long soaked in saliva, was unconsciously twisted by his anxious fingers to be discarded when discovered by his lowered gaze.

—...WTF? What kind of joke is this! It's just a name from some wuxia novel! Tang Hong cursed before he continued down the page.

"Heheheh!" Tang Hong let out a silly chuckle, seeming to be enjoying himself right then before again scrolling through the news feed to see what was happening in the world. After about a dozen or so pages, he finally managed to tire himself out, but during his quick scrolling something in the corner of his eye had caught his sight and forced him to scroll back up.

Oh my freaking god! Did this guy really never even once consider that the person he brought home could be some deranged killer?! That head of his—even though it could never be described as clever, absolutely thought itself as one worth cherishing and had made up its mind it would divorce itself from its fool of a body and go live life on its own as soon as the next day arrived!

Good god. Shock made Tang Hong almost freeze solid inside that living room. What the heck is up with the boss' endurance, it's too freaking strong! Geez! He really, really does deserve to be the boss! Them, with an embarrassed look, he turned towards Yan Zhang, begging the other to regard those lυstful moans as those belonging to a woman.

XXXX year... that was four years ago.

CHAPTER TWENTY

The pale moon hung in the dark night sky, hiding behind the tall buildings and treetops in of that city as they made their way home.

The more Tang Hong thought about it, the more the idea of the one he agued with being a woman seemed impossible to believe. He stared at Yan Zhang in the darkness, who at first had lain on his back to get to sleep, but due to the pain of having his injury touched, had switched to lying on his side. Only after adjusting himself a few times did he finally lay comfortably and breathed easily.

What a strange... coincidence.

But...! The truth was, this guy surnamed Tang truly wasn't cut out for such strenuous mental activities, because just a couple seconds after thinking all this, he was already letting out snores, having fallen fast asleep.

So, to his back, Tang Hong continued staring as he thought, What on earth could the real reason for that wound on his head be? Did someone try to rob him? But, if that's the reason, why wouldn't he just go back home? Was he robbed and threatened, is that why he was afraid to return to his family and was just wandering around on the streets? Or...

This guy surnamed Tang (soup)—whose character and IQ was just as dense as a bowl of soup, was without a god-damn doubt a pure and certifiable fool! How could it never dawn on him that there is nobody in this world who needs a few seconds to think when asked their own name...!

iana: the novels used in the fake search results are real books by the way. The first is called King Wu/Martial King (武王) by Song Baisheng (松柏生), and the second is Blood Axe (血斧) by Liu Canyang (柳残阳).

While he stared at the screen nervously from over Tang Hong's shoulder, the cіgarette hanging from his lips, long soaked in saliva, was unconsciously twisted by his anxious fingers to be discarded when discovered by his lowered gaze.

But...

But...! The truth was, this guy surnamed Tang truly wasn't cut out for such strenuous mental activities, because just a couple seconds after thinking all this, he was already letting out snores, having fallen fast asleep.

In the middle of the night, under the over of darkness, that sad and lonely man had simply stared at the ceiling for a long, long time..

Or...

In the middle of the night, under the over of darkness, that sad and lonely man had simply stared at the ceiling for a long, long time..

He had told Tang Hong his name was Yan Zhang—and that idiot Tang Hong had actually believed me!

"Hey, bro! Look how freaking huge her boobs are!"

That man... the one whom Yu Yanzhang believed he had killed, well, that man was actually still very much part of the world of the living.

His profile was completely different than the others with endless mentions of meritorious deeds and political achievements. Instead, all he had was the brief introduction. It noted his date of appointment, the date he took office—but what was the most interesting fact was the last sentence which stated: "Went missing in the year XXXX..."

So tell me, just who do you all think that man could be?

The more Tang Hong thought about it, the more the idea of the one he agued with being a woman seemed impossible to believe. He stared at Yan Zhang in the darkness, who at first had lain on his back to get to sleep, but due to the pain of having his injury touched, had switched to lying on his side. Only after adjusting himself a few times did he finally lay comfortably and breathed easily.
